“BAYAN KO” is a dramatic reading based on the book “A Nation Aborted: Rizal, American Hegemony and Philippine Nationalism” by Floro Quibuyen, made by the author himself.
The updated version was presented for the first time at the University of the Philippines Diliman by selected students of Kasaysayan 1 under Mr. Michael Charleston “Xiao” Chua of the UP Department of History on March 10, 2006 at the Bulwagang Sala’am of the Asian Center, Romulo Hall, UP Diliman.

The original script that was written in 2002 in consultation with Quibuyen’s PI 100 class at the University of the Philippines Visayas-Miagao, Iloilo. It was first presented, in the form of a choral reading directed by Quibuyen, as an intermission number in the Symposium on Globalization. The event, organized by Quibuyen’s Political Science 190 class, took place at the UPV College of Fisheries Auditorium on 20 February 2002, as part of the UPV College of Arts and Sciences activities during the Social Sciences Week. It was received with a standing ovation.
